Name the covered place
A real rain plan is a location, a travel time and a lighting approach. It may be the hotel arcade, the covered edge of a venue, a conservatory booking or a quiet interior with good window light. It is never simply ‘we will make it work.’
The covered option should sit close to the ceremony. Short coverage has very little tolerance for cross-city driving, especially on a wet Saturday.
Keep a five-minute outside option
A clear umbrella and five brave minutes are usually enough for the photograph that locates the day in Vancouver. Nobody needs to spend an hour in the rain. The rest can be made somewhere warm, dry and visually intentional.
